2004 - 14 years old

- Early in 2004, she received a sponsors exemption to play the Sony Open, a pga tour event held in Hawaii. Although she had received praise from many pga players about the quality of her game, there weren’t many who gave her the chance of making the cut. Stuart Appleby commented that 2 rounds in the 80s should be a decent effort for her. To many people’s surprise, she shot 72 in the first round, followed by a 68 in the 2nd round and missed the cut by just one stroke, beating players like Scott Hoch, Zach Johnson, Tom Pernice Jr, Vaughn Taylor, Notah Began, Hunter Mahon, Tim Petrovic, Adam Scott and Jeff Sluman, and shooting the same 2 round total as players such as Stuart Appleby, Daniel Chopra, Darren Clarke, Ben Curtis, Jim Furyk, Jeff Maggert and Kenny Perry.

- She next played the Hawaii Pearl Open, a mens pro event, and finished 38th there, shooting a 68 (-4) in the 2nd round, which was the lowest round score ever recorded by a woman there.

- In June she played the Curtis Cup, and was on the winning US team, along with teammates like Paula Creamer. Wie won both of her individual matchplay matches there.

- Later in June she defended her US Public Links title and had a very successful run at it, getting all the way through to the final again, before finishing runner up at the competition.

- In September, she played a mens professional event in Hawaii, The Waikoloa Open, and came a very credible 14th place.

LPGA EVENTS
- She played 7 lpga events in 2004, making every cut and finishing no worse than 33rd. Her most successful event was the Kraft Nabisco, where she registered her first top 5 in a major, finishing in 4th place. Her total lpga results for 2004 were 4th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 13th, 19th, 33rd.
