Interview - after 3rd Round
Q.
Can you start off talking about your performance this week?
MICHELLE WIE: Obviously, I'm a little disappointed with today's round. I hit a
couple of shots off line, got a couple of bad breaks, putts didn't fall today.
But, I have a lot of positive thoughts I can bank off of for the next
tournament. There's room for improvement, but I felt like I did a pretty good
job for my first tournament.
Q. What happened on 18?
MICHELLE WIE: I pulled it left and I got into the water and stuff happenend
inbetween and it somehow got it in the hole after seven shots. It was just a
bad hole.
Q. It seemed like you were a little
left off tee today. Is there a reason?
MICHELLE WIE: It's my first tournament back—I'm going to have good shots,
I'm going to have bad shots. There's a lot of room for improvement, but I'm
back at square one and I just have to work from here.
Q. Were you encouraged or discouraged
today after such a good opening round?
MICHELLE WIE: Definitely, like I said, there's a lot of room for improvement,
but there's a lot of positive shots that I gained confidence from this week in
the first round, second round and even this round. I hit a lot of really good
shots. Obviously, I have to work on improving my bad shots, but just felt like
I was a little rusty out there.
Q. What is the next event you're
playing?
MICHELLE WIE: I'm not really sure, yet.
Q. You've played the course a
thousand times before. What made today different?
MICHELLE WIE: Shots weren't going where I wanted them to, misread a couple of
putts. Like I said, felt like I was a little rusty out there and just have to
play it out.
Q. How does it make you feel that, no
matter what, you have all your fans still here to support you?
MICHELLE WIE: It's really nice to play in front of your home state. It's nice
that a lot of my family, fans and a lot of my friends came out today, so it
was really nice playing in front of them.
